In Asia, rhythm arcade games dominate all the local arcades. Only 2 or 3 years ago on my last trip to Taipei Taiwan, it was all about dance and music games and now with the introduction of large touch screen displays, tap and touch rhythm games have completely taken over the arcade scene here in Asia. What's even more amazing to see is the dexterity that some of these kids show when taking on some of these truly challenging levels. I can't help but wonder how these speed and accuracy talents will translate into the real world. If war games were controlled by touch screen like these, moving starships into strategic battle maneuvers like a modern day Ender's Game, I think the US would have a major defeat handed to them by the Asians. Here are three of the top 3 arcades we saw at the Asian arcade scene which include Jubeat, MaiMai and Groove Coaster.
