Final Fantasy VI is arguably the greatest and most beloved Final Fantasy story ever told of all the Final Fantasies and yesterday it celebrated it's 20 year anniversary. Even hard core Final Fantasy fans who have played nearly all the Final Fantasy games have a hard time recalling all the details of each game but the story of Final Fantasy 6 is one that sticks with you. Not to say the other's weren't also great, I mean when the twins sacrificed themselves in Final Fantasy IV by turning themselves to stone almost made me cry or when Rinoa puts on Squall's ring and they looked at each other and just knew about their parents relationship of unfinished love that just hit me right in the heart. However, if there was ever going to be a good Final Fantasy movie and I emphasize "Good" it should be based on the Final Fantasy VI story. So in celebration of their 20th anniversary, we wanted draw up our dream cast for the Final Fantasy 6 movie. Here's what we think:
Natalie was most recently part of the Thor series of marvel movies and is also well know for her parts in the Star Wars franchise and V for Vendetta. She can definitely pull off the lost and naive character however should be able to transform easily into the powerful Terra in the latter part of the story.
I've only seen Hiddleston play Loki in Thor recently however, I think he could pull off the charismatic Setzer role well with his humorous witty style which we've already seen from his Loki role. And he's also have to pull off that I'm mega rich and always get what I want kind of conniving personality, we think it's perfect.
A high-priced ninja mercenary who offers his services to both the Empire and the Returners.
This was a tough one since Ghestal is one of those people who always comes off with seemingly fair proposition, a propagandized character who look and talks like a leader taking care of the mass yet behind the curtains is pure evil. I would just love to see this role carried by McKellen since the character is very much like Magneto.
Perlman who's play so many drastically different roles from Hellboy to Son's of Anarchy, he's got the flexibility to probably do a good job as Banon who needs to be a strong leader, who makes solid decisions and is generally concerned with the welfare of all his people. He has that commanding personality and the look of experience and age to pull this off.
